The International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization (WHO) started celebrating this day with the aim of spreading awareness about diabetes causes and the disease itself among the people to have an understanding about the disease. November 14, 1922 is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the scientist who discovered insulin, which plays a huge role in keeping the amount of sugar in the body stable.
