Thailand COVID-19 Cases February 2, 2022 Update

Thailand Ministry of Health reports 8,587 new COVID-19 cases and an additional 22 deaths since yesterday. The ministry also announced an additional 8,485 recovered patients.

Around 2500 passengers arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday. Airport general manager Kittipong Kittikachorn that test and go package arrivals come from Malaysia, Singapore, and Europe. Renovations made to the airport allowed a smoother process for the tourists as they checked in for quarantine.

Hotels were also advised to respond to the Thailand Pass booking verification within 30 hours. In cases that the hotel failed to respond, the application will be automatically rejected. The tight measure prevents any infected tourist from roaming around. Thailand Pass Hotel & Swap System (TPHS) is designed to help track tourists and contain the possible spread of Covid-19. It connects data from all related parties and updates it for effective analysis.

Tourists were sometimes granted a QR code from Thailand Pass to enter the country. This is despite lacking a hotel, airport transfer, or an RT-PCR test booking. Thailand Pass Hotel & Swap System (TPHS) prevents that since all data is updated in real-time.

The changes made to the Test and Go program is showing that it is now able to address previous flaws. It has better measures not just to protect the local residents but also the tourists.
