India’s Harnaaz Sandhu has won the Miss Universe title at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant held in Israel. While South Africa’s Lalela Maswane was declared the second runner-up and Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira was declared the first runner-up. After 21 years, an Indian beauty has achieved this title. Along with this, she has also become the third Indian beauty to win the title of Miss Universe. Before Harnaaz, Lara Dutta in 2000 and Sushmita Sen in 1994 gave India the title of Miss Universe. The 70th Miss Universe pageant was held in Israel on 12 December. On this victory of Harnaaz, many celebs have congratulated him by sharing posts on social media.
Sandhu was crowned by former Miss Universe Andrea Meza of Mexico. Harnaaz Sandhu said on this achievement that “I am very grateful to the almighty, my parents and Miss India organization for guiding and supporting me. Lots of love to all those who prayed and wished for the crown for me.”
Harnaaz Sandhu, who has made a mark as a model and actress, won the Times Fresh Face in the year 2017, representing Chandigarh at the age of 17. Later she won the title of LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021. Harnaaz is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration degree. She also won the title of Femina Miss India 2019.
