INDIA COVID Cases Update as of February 11, 2022

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has reported a decrease in COVID cases since yesterday. As of February 11, 2022 (8:00 IST), there has been a total of 57,816 new cases reported across India.

Kerala has reported 18,420 cases followed by Maharashtra registering 6,248 cases, and Karnataka stands at 5,019 cases at this time. Today’s number is lower than yesterday’s and below the 200,000 mark that was previously reported.

This is the fifth day that the cases have fallen below 100,000. Despite the decrease in cases, public precaution is still advised. Social Distancing, vaccination, and wearing masks is still recommended.

Health Ministry on Thursday said the overall Covid-19 situation in the country was very optimistic. Union Health Ministry Joint Secretary Luv Aggarwal said four states have more than 50,000 active cases. This includes Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The joint secretary also sighted 11 states have active cases between 10,000 and 50,000.

the Ministry of Health Thursday scrapped the mandatory seven-day home quarantine.  The new guidelines, come into effect from February 14. It requires passengers to self-monitor their health for 14 days after arrival and isolate in case they develop symptoms of Covid-19. All passengers will undergo thermal screening on arrival and be isolated at a medical facility if found symptomatic.
