COVID19 vaccination drive in India – MEA sends press brief

The Ministry of External Affairs of India has sent a press brief about the updated status of COVID 19 vaccination in India. It said that India has authorized use of two vaccines – Covishield and Covaxin for COVID-19. Covishield¬†vaccine (Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine)¬† is being produced by Serum Institute of India (SII) in Pune. The production of the indigenously developed ‘Covaxin’ by Bharat Biotech International Ltd. (BBIL) in such a short period of time is a testament to Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) under the vision and leadership of Prime Minister Modi which is delivering affordable and quality solutions to all the citizens of India by harnessing domestic capabilties. India’s vaccine production and delivery capacity would be used for the benefit of all humanity. India will soon start supplying vaccines to some neighbouring countries
