Chhath Puja Special Thekua Recipe

Chhath Puja the great festival of faith, is just about to begin. In such a situation, the fasting performs this great festival of four days to please the sixth Mayya. This year Chhath festival will start with bathing on November 8 and will end on November 11 with the dawn of dawn. Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables along with Thekua Mahaprasad is definitely offered on this Mahaparva on 6th May. Chhath Puja is considered incomplete without this offering. This prasad is very dear on 6th May. It is quite crispy and tasty too.

  • Ingredients needed to make Thekua-
  • Wheat flour
  • Jaggery
  • Ghee
  • Cardamom crushed
  • Coconut – 1 cup (grated)

Method of making Thekua Prasad

  • To make Chhath Mahaprasad, first take jaggery and divide it into small pieces.
  • After this, mix 1 cup of water and jaggery in a big pot and cook it till it boils.
  • After this, when the jaggery dissolves well, then add it to the wheat flour and mix it well.
  • -Sieve the syrup before pouring it into the flour.
  • After this, add ground cardamom and coconut sawdust in the flour and mix it.
  • Now knead tight dough with the help of water.
  • Now make small balls of this flour and mash it with your hand and press it lightly.
  • Now put ghee in a pan and heat it and fry thekua.
  • When it turns golden, take it out.
  • Your Chhath Mahaprasad Thankua is ready.
