81-year-old retired scientist PR Ramachander from Kerala who now lives in Bangalore has knowledge of several languages, such as Sanskrit, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu.
PR Ramachande told that he decided on the day of retirement that w-ill translate Hindu Stotras written in all these languages into English. He has so far translated 2000 stotras written in four languages. In which translated three Ramayanas (Valmiki, Kamba and Adhyatma), 21 Upanishads, Gita, Devi Mahatmyam, Narayaniyam, Jnanapan, Krishna Karnamrutam, 21 Vedic hymns, including 65 out of 80 known stotra compositions of Chamakam, Rudram and Adi Shankara Huh.
PR Ramachande has also translated 1950 works of Carnatic in English, including all known works of Tyagaraja, about 100 works of Purandaradas, Othukadu Venkatasubba Iyer etc.
