Pinarayi Vijayan becomes the Chief Minister of Kerala for the second time

The swearing-in ceremony was completed in Kerala on Thursday. Left Democratic Party leader Pinarayi Vijayan took oath of Chief Minister in front of Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at Central Stadium. Apart from Vijayan, 20 other ministers were also sworn in. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Pinarayi Vijayan on becoming the Chief Minister for the second time in Kerala.

On Wednesday, the Kerala High Court had said that more people could not be invited for the swearing-in ceremony in view of the corona pandemic. The government should be assured that if it conducts this function in limited numbers, it will be allowed. In view of this, at least a number of ceremonies were held.

The court said that in states like Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, the swearing-in ceremony has been done in the presence of fewer guests, so in view of Corona, the number of guests in Kerala should also be limited.
