Fuel Prices Increased for the Fifth Consecutive Day

Petrol-Diesel Rate Today, once again, the prices of petrol and diesel have reached their highest level across the country. Today is the fifth day by the state-owned oil companies when the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased. Oil prices have reached new record levels. In the capital Delhi, the price of both the fuels has increased by 35-35 paise today.

According to petroleum company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), today’s petrol in the capital of the country rose by 35 paise to 107 rupees 59 paise per liter from Rs 107.24 on Saturday. At the same time, diesel has increased from Rs 95.97 per liter to Rs 96 32 paise per liter. Petrol and diesel prices in the capital have increased almost daily this week. On one hand, with the onset of the festive season, the price of everything is increasing. On the other hand, transportation is also getting expensive due to all this becoming expensive, which is directly affecting the pockets of the general public.

Let us tell you that from the month of May 2020 till now, the price of petrol in the country has seen an increase of about Rs 36 per liter. At the same time, diesel prices have increased by Rs 26.58 per liter in these 18 months.

The government had increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel after the international crude oil prices fell to a record low of $ 19 per barrel. However, since then the international crude oil prices have improved to $ 85 per barrel, but the excise duty on petrol remains at Rs 32.9 per liter. Similarly, excise duty on diesel remains at Rs 31.8 per liter.
